Finishing Grace
Oct 05, 2023As I lay on my bed thinking, all my thoughts come down to me working for a greater cause, striving for something greater than I am. The world is a just a place, the people that make up the world are the essence. If the people who make up the world are lost and vision is short, the world will fast become a pit. Everyday, people are letting go, losing vision and in turn missing out on the Joys and fulfillment of living. It's not so much about where we're from, but where we're headed that truly matters.
We might not have had a choice or even had the chance of a choice to decide where we come from but we sure have the choice and the presence of mind to decide where we go from here. It's either we all get on the moving train of life encapsulated with a working vision or we totally miss out on the hope that there is something better out there. Make a decision to know a little about everything and be empowered in ways that you never thought possible. Push yourself constantly and challenge your mind beyond the borders of your physical space to bring lasting change to a world that will flourish only because you chose growth!
So, I happen to be a dangerously self-sufficient person. Forgive my choice of adjective but I say ‘dangerously’ because I have the tendency not to ask for help even when I am close to burn-out or a complete break down. I am not sure if it is the part of me that doesn’t like to inconvenience people or it’s probably a deficiency of trust that the other person would be able to follow certain principles. Regardless of what the reason might be, it has still taken me a very long time to realize that whenever I open up myself to support, I fight easier, I fight better and I finish well.
Sometimes, us self-sufficient people can start something but without the strength that comes from knowing we are not alone, finishing becomes intolerable, almost unachievable.
The question is not just will you start? But will you finish?
You weren't created to quit but to finish. The way to do it is to tap into support. First from God, second, from those He has gifted you!
The enemy is not bothered about trying to stop you from starting. He's seen a lot of people start. He is more dogged at stopping you from finishing and sadly, a lot of people fall into that trap.
You confuse the enemy when you keep going despite all the obstacles, he throws at you. That gets him on his toes to make sure the closer you get to finishing the more obstacles he throws your way. Remember when it looks so difficult, it means you are so close to the finishing.
He who has begun a good work in you shall perform it until the day of Jesus Christ, Trust him – Philippians 1:6
The race is not to the swift but those who endure till the end will be saved!
It’s your race, you do not have to finish in first place but make sure you finish anyway!
